Growth In Individual Health Care Spending

An analysis of employer-sponsored health benefits spending from 2012 to 2016 by the Health Care Cost Institute found that Americans continue to spend more on health care compared to five years ago, even though the demand for care has not significantly changed over that time period. Total spending per person grew 4.6% in 2016 compared to 4.1% growth in 2015 and sub-three-percent growth from 2012 to 2014.
