The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) is dedicated to promoting dialogue between academic institutions and their health care industry partners to improve collaboration and enhance health outcomes.

Yearly ASAHP Summits bring together leaders, faculty and providers in-person concurrently at member institution “hubs” which culminate in a virtual “harvest” session between hub participants who engage in a national-level conversation.

As a member of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), ASAHP was actively engaged in the development of Version 3 of the IPEC Core Competencies in 2023. The 2024 ASAHP Summit will focus on engaging academic institutions with healthcare industry partners to operationalize these competencies in clinical practice for improved healthcare professional readiness to improve health outcomes.

The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) is dedicated to promoting dialogue between academic institutions and their health care industry partners to improve collaboration and enhance health outcomes.

This year there are 6 regional summit hub locations:

Nutley, NJ, Hub: Seton Hall University
Layton, UT, Hub: Weber State University and University of Utah
Houston, TX, Hub: UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, UT Medical Branch (UTMB), and UT Health San Antonio
Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Hub: Nova Southeastern University
Cincinnati, OH, Hub: University of Cincinnati

2022 ASAHP Regional Summit

Thank you for attending! We had wonderful conversations with over 100 attendees across our three hubs on June 3 culminating in the virtual harvest session. You can watch the virtual harvest session below.

With innovations in interprofessional education and practice along with the recent changes in healthcare, there is a need to reconsider health professions clinical education. The 2022 ASAHP Regional Summits will provide an opportunity for dialogue and action between representatives in academia and the healthcare industry to discuss improvements to clinical education.

The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) is hosting the 2022 ASAHP Regional Summit on June 3, 2022 at the following hub sites:

Nova Southeastern University's Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Science in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
University of Cincinnati's College of Allied Health Sciences in Cincinnati, Ohio
University of South Dakota School of Health Sciences in Sioux Falls, SD

The Summit will be in-person at each of the hubs, and registration is limited. The Summit culminates where all 3 hub sites convene in a virtual "Harvest" session consensus event designed to continue the local dialogue on a national level.
