Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment In 2017

More than 12.2 million individuals selected a plan through the Health Insurance Marketplaces during 2017 open enrollment, about 500,000 fewer than last year, according to a final report released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. More than 9.2 million persons enrolled through HealthCare.gov, and the rest through the 12 state-based marketplaces. Three-quarters of enrollees selected a silver plan, 83% qualified for an advance premium tax credit, and 58% for cost-sharing reductions.
